Trust : I am sure your dentist took a x-ray and examined the area. An abscessed tooth will cause swelling in and around your cheek.

Could Be: If you have a bump on the inside of your cheek caused by a tooth, then most likely the tooth has a rough or sharp edge which is irritating the cheek. Or, perhaps you're biting on your cheek (aware or unaware, perhaps wile sleeping). Any soft tissue sore can be sensitive, so burning or itching when you eat or use tobacco products is quite possible. See if smoothing the tooth helps avoid irritation.

Dip snuff?: If you dip snuff, i would have the area looked at by an oral surgeon, or ent.
