Not unusual: Slight regurgitation is common. Take care of all your risk factors: no smoking weight control blood pressure control cardiovascular training. Infection or heart failure from coronary disease are issues to avoid.

Minimal mr is common: Myxomatous valves at times despite of good repair can degenerate. Other cause is inadequate repair. The non-use of an annuloplasty ring, non-use of a sliding plasty, and the use of chordal shortening instead of transposition or artificial chordae were factors of recurrence.
