Calf pain: No. Get checked for a blood clot. Other causes may be muscle pain and swelling, but check asap with your orthopedic surgeon and get a venous doppler.

Calf Pain: Absolutely, if you have a meniscal tear that is posterior or if you have swelling in the knee it can cause swelling into the "baker's cyst" which lies above the medial calf muscle.
