Very Possible: It is possible that the edges of your invisalign trays are slightly sharp near the gum line. Also, your attachments that are bonded to the teeth could also be sharp as well. Your orthodontist should easily be able to polish the aligners as well as you attachments to help alleviate the pain and sores.

Not normal: It is not normal to experience sores and a burning tongue with invisalign. Occasional irritations from the edge of the aligners are easily remedied by smoothing the offending edge. However, sores and burning sensations may be symptoms of a viral stomatitis (infection created by a virus) that will require professional care and medication. Consult your dental professional.

Possible allergy: It is fairly rare, but some people are allergic to something that invisalign uses in the manufacturing process. I would stop using the trays and tell your doctor what is happening. There are alternatives for treatment.

No: No, see your doctor, you may have a rough edge (in the invisalign aligners) that is rubbing your tongue raw.

No!: May be rough edge to the trays, although this is extremely rare. May be allergy to the plastic, also very rare. Most probably an infection, viral, bacteria, or fungal. Check in with both your General Dentist and with your Orthodontic Specialist for evaluation and Rx.
