Sometimes: The salty taste can be coming from several areas but the most likely cause is that the appliance is not cleaned thoroughly before you insert it at night. Be sure to wash the appliance inside and out with a warm soapy water solution and thoroughly rinse it off. Also make sure you floss and properly brush your teeth before inserting the appliance for the night.

Salty taste: Make sure aligners spotlessly clean. Placing in Denture cleaner daily may help. See your Dentist to make sure you have no gum disease, and make sure to brush 2 full minutes by the clock 2x/day and especially floss daily. Also have you changed meds/supplements/foods recently. And when was your last medical physical and general dental check up.

Excessive saliva: Wearing Invisalign can cause excessive saliva. Saliva has salty but, normally taste buds are adopted to it. You should also check your sinuses for possible infection and post nasal drip.
