Thanks for asking!: Developmental speech problems do not have anything to do with head injury... Head injury makes produce acquire speech problems in an infant that does not have developmental speech problems or makes worse the already developmental speech problems.

Possibly: It is possible. However are you talking about in your child, or in an adult? If it is a child, with speech therapy the speech can potentially return to normal or close to it. If it is in an older person, it may be more complicated, but speech therapy would be the best way to re-train your speech.

Speech refers to how: sounds of words are made. Expressive Language is putting ideas & feelings into words whose meaning, form & syntax meet socially shared rules. Receptive language is understanding others' words. Early Intervention therapists perform standardized tests of communication. If a baby or toddler makes 2-3 mos. progress every 6 mos. after brain injury, they offer alternative means of communication.
