A member asked:

Would anesthetics for ear tubes have caused my son's speech delays?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely to matter: It would be much more likely that the problems leading to the tubes were more important.Any kid with recurrent ear infections was experiencing a 40% loss in speech perception for 4-6 weeks surrounding any infection. These add up to contribute to speech delay. It is one reason tubes are recommended.
