IT varies: It depends on the location of the implant and whether it has a tooth on it or not. Definitely not in the first two weeks to minimize the chance of infection, but the most critical thing is to prevent it from being subjected to trauma.

Wait 2 weeks: If the implant is covered. If exposed, wait longer. Even longer if you've had bone graft. Your implant surgeon knows best.

Couple days: Wait a couple days until the initial discomfort and swelling has gone down. Follow normal hygiene to keep the implant site clean. Otherwise, no restrictions. Keep smiling !

Stitches out first: Your mouth is a healing surgical site after placement of an implant and it is vulnerable to infection. Be protective of the area and try not to introduce any unnecessary bacteria until the soft tissue has healed. Typically, you will have a post-operative appointment with your doctor a week or so after surgery, i suggestion asking your doctor; the answer will be based on your healing.
