Hydrate Cartilage: The cartilage covering the bones in the knee is made up of large molecules that have an affinity for water. They are held in place with a complex network of collagen. This interplay is important for shock absorption, nutrition of the cartilage and maintaining a low friction surface. However, with standard levels of dehydration other organs will cause symptoms before the knees.
