Replenish fluids: Muscle cramps can be a symptom of dehydration due to the bodies inability to transfer needed electrolytes in and out of the muscles. Water is critical to fluid and chemical balance in the body. When replacing fluids in the body remember water or sports drinks are best. Caffeinated drinks have a diuretic effect and can result in more fluid loss. Tonic water can also be helpful.
