How long?: If it is a chronic problem , there are many potential causes but hay fever being the most common. Sometimes the nose may start running after reduction of the nasal congestion. Claritin may dry up the nose but does nothing for decongestion. Claritin-d may be a better bet although it may also keep you awake at night. See an allergist if this problem continues.
