Is the congestion: intermittent? or has it been there constantly over the 2 months? Colds do not last that long, but at that age, one cold can run into another. This could be allergies, but he is a little young for allergies. Is he eating and drinking normally? It's best to see his/her doctor to examine him and determine the cause.

It depends: If your child has congestion and runny nose, but is acting well (eating and sleeping well), it may be allergy related. In many parts of the country, spring and fall allergies can be really severe. Give him lots of fluids to keep the mucous loose, suction his nose with saline drops, and use a cool mist humidifier as needed. Call your doctor if he has a fever >101 for >2-3 days, or is acting sick.
