BuSpar (buspirone) dose varies: I have patients doing well on 5g twice a day, and one who needs 120 mg per day, although 80 is the recommended maximum dose.

Different: The minimum effective dose is different for each person. One dose that might work for one person may not work for another. It also depends on how you metabolize or your body breaks down the medication.

30-60mg/day: Work closely with your md, as increasing too rapidly can make you unsteady, dizzy. Buspar (buspirone) can be started 5-10mg 2-3x a day and increased by 5-10mg every 4+days as tolerated up to max 60mg/day or lower if not tolerate that high of a dose. Some indivs need the 60mg/day total dosing to reach significant benefit of buspar (buspirone). It also can take 4-6 weeks for a response.
