Varied: There are many different treatments for the various pasts of gouty arthritis. For the acute attacks the inflammation can be treated with colchicine, anti-inflammatory medications( like ibuprofen) or steroids. Other medications may be used to lower the uric acid levels in the blood - like Allopurinol or uloric- for more chronic treatment.
