Alcoholic hepatitis is a well know entity of liver toxic inflammation of the liver from alcohol use that can lead to cirrhosis (irreparable scarring) and liver cancer. Eliminating all use of alcohol will halt progression of the liver inflammation. Those with other forms of hepatitis are wise to avoid additional injury to the liver that can occur from alcohol use
