Depends: Hepatitis means inflammation of the liver, and it is caused by many different ways. The kind of hepatitis you got (a) is caused by a virus that is usually food-borne. That means that you likely got it from food that was tainted with it. It is possible that you drank from a cup from someone who was carrying the virus and was using poor hygiene. Alcohol itself can cause hepatitis if drank in excess.
