Can liver damage from alcohol cause hepatitis c?

No: Hepatitis A, B, and C are caused by three different viruses: Hepatitis A virus, Hepatitis B virus, Hepatitis C virus. A person has to get the virus from something or somebody, and the virus has to multiply in his body and infect his liver cells in order to cause hepatitis disease. The viruses do not live in alcohol. Liver damage IS the hepatitis. Liver damage doesn't cause hepatitis A, B, or C.
