Reflux: With acid reflux up to the throat, raising the head of your bed by about four inches will allow gravity help keep acid in your stomach when you sleep. Feel better.

Lifestyle changes: Excess saliva/mucus can be a symptom related to extra-esophageal reflux disease. This can be a silent symptom of gerd in about 50% of people suffering from reflux (meaning no heartburn). Other symptoms include chronic cough, hoarseness, throat mucus, feeling something sticking in your throat, or difficulty swallowing. Treatment with acid suppressors and lifestyle changes can help.
