My mom is 84yrs and takes famotidine for acid reflux....recently, there has been an back order of this meds, & she haven't been taking it for about a week. she has been producing a lot of phlegm lately....could this be the cause? no fever is present

Yes: If there is another over the counter anti reflux medication, this may be used. Please consult your PCP and schedule a virtual appointment for her. Avoid spicy foods and caffeine, an antacid may provide temporary relief.
