Good signs?: There is nothing good about amoebic meningoencephalitis or encephalitis. You are going to be severely ill. High fevers, altered mental status, perhaps seizure, neck stiffnes, headaches, some other neurological condition can be found too- and if you delay therapy- you could die or left with residual damage to your body.

Altered mentation: Any infection that has to do with brain or meninges comes with neck pain and altered mental state i.e. Confusion, etc. Some people will have nausea or vomiting. Amoebiasis causes bloody diarrhea too in some cases.

Change in behavior: If you or a loved one develop a headache with a change in your mental status, stiff neck, seizures, or decreased responsiveness, these may be early signs that you have an infection in the brain and you should proceed to your nearest hospital.
