Possibly: Based on your bmi (~29), you are considered overweight and borderline obese. This is a significant factor contributing to your apnea. Weight loss can be of considerable help, and may even cure your apnea; however consultation with a sleep specialist can give you a better understanding of any other underlying cause of your sleep apnea. Possibly: Talk to a physician about your sleep apnea and weight loss and talk to a dietician or consider take shape for life to safely lose 2-5 pounds per week. Good luck, i hope you make it!

Yes frequently : Many people with sleep apnea can improve or resolve it by losing weight and increasing physical activity. Occasionally there can be other problems such as large tonsils or uvula which may need surgical correction, may need to see an ent.
