I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea, ahi 8. i'm currently 170lb 5feet 8, neck 17 inches. how much weight do i need to lose to reduce the severity of the apnea to normal without cpap or mandibular device?

Focus on keeping a healthy weight and regular exercise to improve muscle tone may help you better. It is also more about your positioning when you sleep that you could see to improve.
