Multiple bugs ?: Bactrim and Cipro (ciprofloxacin) may act differently, and their spectrum may cover various bacteria. New c+s would help.

Do new C&S: When patients do not respond to antibiotics, it is time to do a culture and sensitivity....Even if one was done prior to taking the antibiotics. If pcp or other doc is having difficulty getting infection to resolve it is time to consult an infectious disease specialist.

Cipro- acetinobacter-rash 2 min after 2nd dose.Was ok on bactrim til dose raised to 2p 2x/da-tight chest/throat, but worked better than cipro (ciprofloxacin). Md:ok to resume bactrim, on 1p 3x/da. Is this really safe?
