Tendon: Probably the posterior tibial tendon has been strained a bit maybe while a quick turn with you foot rotated to the inside a bit.

Hard to know: Without an exam and further history there is no way to determine what is going on, whether this is a bone bruise, muscle or tendon sprain or a joint issue. See an orthopedist. Tennis, by the way is the sport most commonly creating injuries requiring a doctor's input per player - not football, soccer, hockey, etc.

Several causes: Could be tendon (posterior tibial or flexor tendons) or ligament damage (deltoid sprain) or nerve impingement (tarsal tunnel syndrome). See you podiatrist for full evaluation if symptoms continue if resting, icing, bracing doesn't relieve the pain after 1-2 weeks. Best of luck.
