Need for Evaluation: Swelling around a tooth that has had a root canal could have several causes. The root canal is still infected, the swelling is from a periodontal (gum) issue. That is why you should see a dentist to be evaluated as to the cause of the swelling.

Call ur dentist: The swelling needs to be treated locally. It may be from the root canal therapy itself, from periodontal disease, or from a fracture. Can't tell over the internet what caused your problem, but a local dentist will be able to. Feel better soon...

Need more history: When was the root canal done? When did the swelling started? Do you have fever or pain? These are questions your dentist will ask you during an evaluation. Get it check out. Most likely the tooth is re-infected.
