Monday i went to the dentist for an absess and was put on clindamycin 300mg 4 times a day. the tooth was drilled to allow to drain i'm having a root canal in about a week. when will the swelling decrease and feel significant relief? it is now wed

Abscess: May take 48-72 hour’s for antibiotic to kick in. May need additional drainage, change in antibiotic, or other treatment. Call your Dentist to report your status. If symptoms do not resolve referral to a root canal specialist, an Endodontist, may be in order.
