24-48 hours: Most mouth washes have high concentrations of alcohol which can delay healing. Many dentist prescribe Chlorhexidine an antiseptic germicide that also interrupts healing . Rinse with warm salt water softly to keep area clean for the first few days. It is the safest and easiest way to cleanse the area.
