Metallic dysgeusia: The taste of metal in your mouth could be from the dental scaling if it created an inflammatory response in your mouth. There are a variety of tests that can be done by specialists to test your smell and taste if this does not improve. I would recommend you see your regular doctor first and then if you can't come up with a diagnosis you can be referred for more detailed testing.
