A member asked:

Will my childs pediatrician talk to me without my daughter present?

Yes : That should always be an option, although time may become an issue in some practices. Of course, it's important to recognize that as your daughter enters adolescence, your pediatrician may also start having to talk to your daughter without you present.

It is reasonable...: To speak with your child's dr. Without them being present. This can be a good way to express concerns. Yet, as your child matures, they may wonder what is being discussed in their absence and wish to know. Thus, private conversations can and should be a prelude to a shared discussion with free exchange. Your child should also speak with dr. Without you there, as your child is their patient.
