What does a "cyst on the kidney" mean?

Thin balloon: It is normal to have up to 2 cysts on a kidney. Cysts are outpouchings of the normal tubules that carry urine. A cyst is filled with urine. Patients with numerous cysts or associated abnormalities need further investigations.
