Hormonal changes: Lack of sleep increase level of hormone called ghrelin and decrease of leptin level in the body. Stress and lack of sleep increase cortisol hormone in the body. Affects moods negatively, eating behaviour and fat metabolism. Regular good night sleep of 7-8 hours daily , relaxation, healthy diet, exercise are countering factors one may want to consider.
