About 3-4 Weeks: Ssri medications such as Lexapro (escitalopram) take a few weeks to reach their maximum potential. Thus it is recommended to try and get about 3-4 weeks into the medication before considering dose or medication changes. Other factors may also play a role in the perceived effectiveness of the medication as well. I recommend you speak with your therapist and/or prescriber regarding this medication. Good luck.

1 week: You may have some transitional side effects while the medicine is starting to become effective; but the benefit of the medicine will be seen after a week of daily dosing. You will see gradual continued improvement over the next couple of weeks, and can count on seeing what the full benefit of what that dosage is going to do for you at the 1 month mark. Check in with your pcp after 1 month to see.
