What kind of surgery: Are we talking gun shot wound? Lacerated wrists? What was the nature of the suicide attempt and what surgery is needed?

Touchy situation: You might think that you should have the right to refuse any treatment offered to you at any time. In the case of a suicide attempt, however, you could be deemed incompetent to make medical decisions. Two doctors could agree that you are a danger to yourself, commit you against your will, and make medical decisions "in your own best interest, " until you are once again deemed to be competent.
