Fusion: Flat foot surgery usually involves fusion of major rearfoot joints (subtalar, talo navicular and/or calcaneal cuboid). This can be combined with tendon work such as achilles tendon lenthening.

Different options: While any surgery must be tailored to the individual patient, most flatfoot surgeries involve a combination ofcalcaneal osteotomies (realigning heel bone), tendon transfers, calf tendon lengthening, ligament reconstructions and joint fusions.
