Carpal tunnel: I dont believe that salt affects carpal tunnel.

Probably: Carpal tunnel syndrome (cts) results from increased pressure within the carpal (wrist) tunnel. The increased pressure can cause compression of the median nerve within the carpal tunnel and over time, cause symptoms ranging from numbness, tingling, pain, weakness and clumsiness. Theoretically, anything that causes soft-tissue swelling (high salt intake, etc.) can cause cts or worsen symptoms.

Yes: Anything that causes swelling in the hand and wrist can cause carpal tunnel syndrome. The problem is not enough room for everything in the wrist and anything that swells can cause pressure on the nerve. Salt can cause fluid retention and lead to swelling.

Yes: Fluid retention can increase the pressure on the median nerve and can contribute to cts. It is not a common cause though.
