Esthetic dentistry: The transluscent line is where the porcelain is less opaque . The shadow from the inside of the mouth shows through. This is why a try-in and asking the patient if everything looks okay before cementation is important. That crown will most likely need to be re-done so tha thte lab can make the porcelain more opaque on the edge.

See Dentist Again: There's really only one thing you can do: see your dentist again and tell him/her that you're concerned about the translucent line. In most cases, dentists spend a lot of time and effort trying to re-create the fine lines and areas of translucency of natural teeth in their restorations...That's probably what this is. However, it may also be something else. Only your dentist can tell you for sure.

See dentist: I would not let much time pass and I would see the dentist that did the work ASAP....I always have my patients sit with the crown for 5-10min to review the crowns and to sign off on the esthetics before we permanently seat them because once they are on they are on....Sometime I will even temp cement them on in highly cosmetic cases. I would just have your dentist evaluate the area.
