7yo failed hearing test & ent found fluid in ear & large tonsil. after 2 rounds of antibiotics fluid decreased but not gone. can we wait it out?

Yes: It can take up to 3 months for fluid to go away completely . Things to consider if you should wait this long include trouble hearing, school grades/problems, ear discomfort, ear infections and quality of speech. If none of these are issues it is reasonable to wait another month. Waiting longer than three months doesn't usually significantly increase the hances of the fluid going away.

While the child has: a unilateral temporary Conductive Hearing Loss, request preferential seating with his better-hearing ear toward the teacher. Consider requesting a Section 504, classroom modifications, for " Other Health Impairment."
