Take meds: Surgery may lower your immune response and make you more prone to an acitve outbreak if the condition is dormant. You can certainly have surgery but you may want to take antiviral medications to prevent an outbreak. If you currently have active lesions, i would consider postponing the surgery as it could become worse.

Yes: Assuming the herpes is completely controlled, you should be able to undergo tummy tuck surgery. The doctors who know you best will be able to give you the best advice. Make sure you disclose all medical issues to your plastic surgeon; prophylactic treatment around the time of “stress” may be indicated.
