Why do some babies/kids scream when they get shots?

Reading babies minds: If only i could read babies minds my job as pediatrician would be so much easier! obviously we are not absolutely certain as to why some babies cry more than other while receiving shots, however, by extrapolating from older children & adults, we know that some individuals seem to feel pain more intensely than others. Also, the exact site of the shot on the body can influence the degree of pain.
