Stye: Gentamycin would not be my choice for a stye. Good lid hygiene and warm compresses would be a good start. See your ophthalmologist for further evaluation.

Yes: Gentamycin ophthalmic solution or ointment can be used for a stye. Keep in mind there is a high instance of allergy to this drug about 30% so after a few days the eye can get red. Some styes resolve with just warm soaks, some need addition of topical steroids, some need to be treated surgically.
