Depends on cause: How to stop palatine tonsils from swelling?. It really depends on the cause. If it is from bacterial infection, then antibiotics help. Allergy driven inflammation can be controlled with allergy medication. Reflux and sinus inflammation can also cause tonsillar swelling. The point being a visit to your ENT doctor may be needed, especially if the swelling is associated with throat pain.

Tonsil swelling: The only medication that will, decrease tonsil swelling would be steroids. This works well, but in some cases it is only temporary. Feel better!
