A member asked:

Is an internal/external pelvic ultrasound able to see lesions/abrasions etc. on the cervix? can this test see problems with fallopian tubes as well?

A good pelvic: Exam with a speculum can see abraisions on the cervix, an ultrasound can see some problems of the tubes like dilated tubes or a mass involving tubes and ovaries and sometimes can see an ectopic pregnancy in the tubes.

YES AND NO: Usually one has a pelvic exam to look for lesions/ abrasions, a doctor will be able to see those with a light not with ultrasound. You can detect problems with the tubes with a salpingogram or ct.
