Possible: By definition type 1 diabetics require insulin, so unless you get a pancreatic transplant, you will need Insulin (some new diabetics have a 'honeymoon' where they can make changes in diet/exercise and not require extra insulin; type 2 diabetes, especially when associated with obesity, is frequently managed without insulin.

Diabetes: Type 1 diabetics usually require insulin. Type 2 diabetics don't initially need Insulin but if their diabetes progresses, they may eventually need to take Insulin as well.
