More Info needed: Abnormal pap smears are caused by hpv. What exactly did they call your 'abnormality'? How do you know you do not have hpv since 96% of american adults do have it?

Yes: You should be concerned enough to follow through with the recommended recheck. You should not be worried, because even if something develops that needs to be treated, it will be found and treated long before it can become a major problem. A little inconvenience now will preclude a big problem later. The women who do have the big issues (cervical cancer) are those who do not follow up as needed.
