A member asked:

How curable is a soft tissue sarcoma of the calf? expected disease free life expectancy and treatment options?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Surgery +/- RT: Most soft tissue sarcomas of the extremities are treated with surgery to completely remove the cancer ("negative" margins) then possibly also post-surgery radiation therapy or rt. Prognosis, and the need for rt, depends on the tumor type and grade, or how aggressively it is growing under the microscope.
