Wrinkle removal: Laser resurfacing is a way to peel a layer of skin. In doing so, brown spots are removed, reorganization of underlying collagen ocurs, and smoothing of the texture of skin results. Laser resurfacing is generally either ablative (deeper) or minimally ablative (more superficial), the former is more effective on deeper wrinkles but with longer down time.

Skin Stimulating: Laser resurfacing can be used to help reducing fine lines/wrinkles as well as minor blemishes and acne scaring. It is accomplished mainly in two ways... The first way is by removing thin layers of superficial skin. The other way is by stimulating collagen growth and production which is helpful in areas of fine lines and wrinkles.

Fixes skin texture: The laser is used to remove skin. When you heal, the new skin that replaces the removed skin is usually "better" than the skin it replaced, ie less scars, less wrinkles, more even color, tighter, etc. It usually takes more than one treatment and results will vary based on the doctors skill, the laser used, and your skin type. Get a few opinions, cheapest is not always in your best interest.

Laser resurfacing: Improving the texture and smoothness of the skin through the application of laser energy. There are two types: ablative and non-ablative. Ablative laser treatments vaporize the epidermis (and possibly deeper), while in non-ablative treatments, the epidermis remains intact.
