Yes: Laser resurfacing using erbiumyag and co2 lasers remove damaged layers of the skin (anywhere from epidermis to mid-dermis) requiring a few days to 2 weeks for recovery as the new skin generates. Fractional lasers cause milder damage to the skin and treat the skin in spots rather than continuous removal. This means more treatments to achieve similar results but less recovery time.

Laser resufacing: Laser resurfacing removes the outer layers of the skin leaving the dermis behind. We use the erbium laser more than the co2 laser. We found the co2 laser may change the color of the skin making it lighter with a line of demarkationbetween treated and untreated skin.
