Dermatology eval: Perhaps it does not work because it is not ringworm. There are other skin conditions such as pityriasis which may look like ringworm but are treated differently.

Try these: The emergence of increasingly drug resistant fungal strains that cause ringworm has led to the release of two formerly prescription products over the counter. Both are topical. They are: "lamisil at" which contains the drug terbinafine and "lotrimin ultra" which contains butenafine. Oral terbinafine is generally effective but must be taken once/day for at least 4 weeks.

Another possibility: Consider that this may be granuloma annulare and not ringworm. This usually resolves spontaneously after several months and treatment may not be required. If treatment is needed, a topical steroid may be effective. See a dermatologist if uncertain.
