A 40-year-old female asked:

Is lotrimin as strong as lamisil (terbinafine) in treating ringworm? and is it ok to use lotrimin 1% on my 4mo old baby. it looks like she has it on her stomach.

Yes&yes but only if: Lotrimin is an over-the-counter brand of clotrimazole which is an antifungal. While Lotrimin doesn't have specific adult vs pediatric guidelines, clotrimazole is approved for use in children. However, it's best to have your infant evaluated to confirm your suspicions. Lamisil is an OTC brand of terbinafine which is also an antifungal but only approved topically for children older than 12yo.
