Can an iud create uterine scarring?

Yes sometimes: Not often an iud can cause that, to diagnose you either need to get an xray called an hsg or better to have a diagnostic hysteroscopy with biopsy that many obgyns including myself do in office, easy, quick takes 5 minutes you are awake please see your obgyn.

Foreign body: An iud works by irritating the uterine lining. It can create scarring if inserted incorrectly, or if it becomes infected. One must be careful and monitor the placement and length of time it is used.
